“Sow the seeds of regret today and eat the fruits of sorrow tomorrow.” – E.G.
When it comes to creating a fulfilling life the inclination to be lazy is frequently a component of the self-sabotaging human brain. Allowing this is to indulge in practices that will not only lead to complaisance, poor health, psychological issues, and regret, but it supplants Soulful thought and replaces it with a life unlived. The term used to define the delay of action is commonly called procrastination. Yet, even though this word in itself is relevant, it is best to remove it from your vocabulary and live as if it doesn’t exist at all.
Defining procrastination gives flesh to an illusion. It defines a lack of action and adds weight to non-movement. In other words, it describes emptiness; it puts a face on the faceless; it manufactures space where there prior was none. Because of this, procrastination as a term is a useless and unnecessary definition for something non-existent that never needed it. Removal of this term is the best alternative for Souls that seek further Illumination and progress during their tenure here. So, in lieu of procrastination, the following can be considered:
We don’t procrastinate. We either make the choice to DO something or NOT do something.
With that in mind, if you make bad daily choices you can develop a better understanding of personal responsibility instead of relegating the issue to procrastination. Recognizing that you made the choice to turn from action places blame directly where it should be; on you alone. That’s because it wasn’t procrastination that stopped you, but a direct decision on your part.
Finding an individual means for combating the choice to not do something is manifold. Yet, it still distills down to one simple thing: A choice. To blame circumstances, time, activities, others, job, etc., is to just further the wrong choice. Not having enough time is one thing, but it’s an entirely different reason, and often a good one, by comparison to choosing inaction. So, it behooves you, first and foremost, take responsibility for your laziness and delays by making the decision to act. Whether it’s done on a set routine with set parameters or in a general sense when each day arrives, that is up to each individual personality. The chief goal is, without any excuses, to make the choice to DO.
This article is not about overcoming laziness and the bad choices you make in life. It is an impetus for taking responsibility for your inaction. It is a redefinition of words that will focus the blame where it should be and ignite a demand for change before the manacles of regret rust over. It’s a splash of cold water to a lazy face, demanding that you not rest on the soft admonishment that comes from the illusion of procrastination. It says wake up! Make the choice today to DO, and set aside any reasons for not doing by shutting up your mind and just committing to the action necessary. If you can shut out excuses instead of listening to them or being distracted by thinking you have to dissolve them, then you are well on your way to achieving success.
It really is this simple:
You make the choice, every day, to either DO or NOT DO and in the end your decision will define the nature and quality of the entirety of your life.
