We’ve all done it at some point or another. Whether it’s believing a sentence made on TV as we leave the house or opening the bible to a random page in a plea for divine assistance, signs, and the looking for them, is a common occurrence. I recall an individual who would let their interpretation of signs navigate their daily decisions and situations to the point of obsession. It can be very disruptive to live this way, especially since most signs aren’t signs at all, having no meaning, and are frequently just made into complications by the observer.
Does this mean that signs don’t occur? No. The significance of signs and their place in our lives is a moving testament to supernatural intervention. Yet, real signs are clear and obvious interruptions in the pattern of standard living. Real signs are never vague and their analysis and interpretation is unnecessary due to their overt meaning. Real signs are direct and obvious. In contrast, the signs discussed here are the subjective forms that lack such tenability. They are, more often than not, indistinguishable occurrences that, in the light of rationality, mean nothing at all.
One of the more prevalent responses to signs is when someone experiences an incident that halts what they are doing. The person interprets the vague sign as a cryptic way of being told to stop something. Whether it’s to not go see a friend due to a random phone call, drive to the store during a storm, or refrain from a large purchase due to passing a book on a table about financial security, these messages are just random occurrences that have no bearing on your daily activities. Also, heeding to them can be a roadblock to progress, the achievement of deserved goals or items, or to miss out on precious time with others.
The thing about real signs is that our Designer is not an entity of uncertainty. Signs are not meant to be confusing or cryptic happenings that lend themselves to confusing interpretations. Real signs are not small episodes given weight by a mind that yearns to construct something out of them. You DO NOT need to practice divination in order to descry the meaning of real signs. They won’t just be vague and minor occurrences cloaked in the shadow of mystery waiting for you to waste your time making sense of them.
The wonderful thing about recognizing this truth is you will find that unclear signs become nothing to note or be wary of. There shouldn’t be an “I told you it meant that!” if the sign was interpreted into a following truth just like there isn’t an “I told you so” if it didn’t. Blind interpretation leads to probability; and probability is not in the realm of Illumination in this regard.
Another realization to note is that responders to signs frequently interpret them as a telling omen not to do something. They experience something that is in the way of their progress or that seems attempting to stop them from going forward. Unfortunately, this is illogical and based on negative interpretations without any reason to do so. If vague signs occur, given their subjectivity, you can just as easily interpret it as a reason to push harder. People often say “something is telling me to stop so I better quit now” or “I’m experiencing resistance”. You can just as easily say “The enemy is trying to hold me back, so now I’ll push harder.” You can either presume the force is a positive one trying to keep you from trouble or difficulty, or an evil one not wanting you to succeed. When the supposed sign is vague, there is no true way to know, leaving it open to individual interpretation. This also, by that very nature, proves its lack of meaning entirely. That’s because real signs, as stated earlier, are not cloaked in uncertainty.
When you remove the false constructs your mind creates when manufacturing signs out of random occurrences, you leave your actions and life to your own logical devices. Doing this not only increases a healthy perspective on advancement, but removes the pedestrian and limited views that can hinder individual progress while being here. Also, avoiding these false signs will make you more capable of committing to actions based on the merit of insight and wisdom and not worthless calculations focused on inconsequential happenings. When you learn to avoid false signs you can also fall more in line with spiritual compulsion, which is the magnificent clarity of feeling that occurs when you know you’re moving in the right direction.
You will always know when a sign has really occurred because it won’t be obfuscated in confusion, leading to bewilderment about its meaning. Divine signs are manifested in a direct manner that leaves no room for mystification. Due to this, your ability to occupy this world with more control over your decisions becomes more apparent. You weren’t meant to be led by false maps and perplexing tools; you were given the freedom to make your own decisions, guided by wisdom first, assisted by logic and a deductive interpretation of each situation. You will find through your relinquishment of false signs that wisdom was a much better guide anyway, supplanting bewildering warnings and symbols with the valid and powerful force of spiritual judgment.
Throw away your attachment to unnecessary signs. Obey your spiritual compulsions, wise interpretations, and logical deductions for navigating the world. Then, when a real sign actually appears, you’ll be even more enthralled by the magnificence of its arrival.
